POS*Liberty is an advanced, highly-flexible point-of-sale
software system designed to enhance customer service and to
increase employee productivity while supporting a wide variety
of elemental point-of-sale functions. |
INDEPENDENCE FROM TRADITIONAL POINT-OF-SALE CONCEPTS
POS*Liberty departs from conventional
software approaches to point-of-sale with its full-screen access
to an inventory management system and its powerful interaction
with nightly sales and price lookup data. |
FUNCTIONS AND FEATURES
At the POS*Liberty registers, users can switch from ringing up
sales to answering shoppers' questions concerning inventory availability or
on-order status. The register screens also provide space for help messages
and training text, pop-up windows to look up optional selections
and name/address entry for customer service-related transactions. Additionally,
users can access credit authorization, UPC coding, EDI communication and
Electronic Mail.
Without slowing response time, POS*Liberty registers post transactions
safely and directly to a relational database that resides on a host computer
capable of supporting UNIX®, MS-DOS® or other widely installed operating systems.
Access to this host computer also allows the cashier to track customer transaction
history and to perform price checks.
POS*Liberty is designed to assist new users in learning the point-of-sale
procedures as quickly as possible with limited supervision. In conventional POS applications,
retailers usually rely on lookup charts and cheat sheets to help their cashiers
remember all of the departments, transaction types, fees and tender types. With POS*Liberty,
this information is always available in easy-to-use windows.
Learning the POS*Liberty application can be accomplished in a fraction of the time. |
UNCONFINED CAPABILITIES TO CONFIGURE POS*LIBERTY
By design, POS*Liberty can be tailored to meet the individual demands and needs of the retailer.
It is easy to set up function keys on the keyboard to represent certain transaction types,
tender types, modifiers or fees. Groups of registers can share the same profile of function
keys and other attributes.
Retailers can table-define their unique way of doing business and serving shoppers for specialized
fees, payment types, credit types, tax tables, discounts, markdowns and check-digit algorithms.
POS*Liberty handles the complete range of sales taxes common in North America including luxury tax,
taxability based on store, taxability based on departments/class, multiple tax tables and
Canadian goods and services tax. |
FREEDOM TO COLLECT DATA
During the transaction, pertinent customer information can be recorded such as a
customer's account number, name, address, telephone number and any comments. The
software can be inexpensively customized to add additional data fields such as life stage,
gender, etc., establishing the basis for subsequent target market programs. Employees
can also enter declared totals for the day's register. The sales audit person
automatically receives reports on what was in the cash drawer at closing, so it is
unnecessary to call in the totals.
