Inventory Management Module

The Inventory Management System is an integrated module of the RATEX software. The objective of retail inventory management is to supply, resupply, and account for all goods in your store within the constraints of pre-established, open-to-buy limits. The Inventory Module provides you with the tools necessary for management and accounting to oversee store inventory more efficiently and with better control.


STOREWIDE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT

The Inventory Module has been developed to become an integral part of the Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Receiving modules to provide you with timely, online results for managing your bookstore. For example, inventory-at-cost and inventory-at-retail figures are maintained for each class.

Each sales transaction is posted to inventory as part of the nightly sales processing. The module gives you the instant ability to enter, update and delete inventory classes. In addition, you can:
  • Maintain sales figures in dollars at retail and dollars at cost by merchandise class.
  • Maintain inventory and sales figures by month and year-to-date.
  • Automatically process sales data in the inventory master file.
  • Support inventory adjustments through merchandise returns and stock purchase/returns.
  • Provide mark-up, mark-down, and mark-off procedures for inventory levels due to sales and price fluctuations.
  • Create and report shrinkage and special adjustments to inventory and sales figures.
  • Update inventory levels with physical inventory figures on demand.
  • Automatically transfer appropriate inventory-related data to the general ledger.
  • Automatically update appropriate cash purchases and receipts data from the general ledger to the inventory master file.

INVENTORY REPORTING

The Inventory Module helps you manage the inventory process by generating comprehensive reports designed into the system and by allowing you to design your own reports. Your options are almost endless.
