The Textbook Management System is an integrated module of the
RATEX software. With this module, you can provide your textbook
department with an adequate supply of texts in a timely and economical
manner. The module's combined functions will help you manage textbook
requests, enrollment estimates, publisher shipments, and used book
searches/returns. |
WORKING THE BUY
As you work the buy, the Textbook Module provides you with
the information to control text purchases. You can easily enter information
such as course requests, physical inventory, course enrollments, and
class history into the system and combine them together in a desired
worksheet format to assist your buyer. An individual worksheet can
be generated for each text. The Textbook Module automatically
keeps track of which texts have been worked for the buy and which
have not. |
MAXIMIZING TEXT PURCHASES
After establishing your needs for text purchases, the Textbook
Module allows you to process manual orders into the system from
buy trips, and it automatically orders the remainder of the to-provide
quantities from the publisher/wholesaler. For example, rather than
waiting for completed lists of texts to send to the wholesaler, the
Textbook Module allows you to transmit requests via Link
(Easylink, Pubnet or Ingram) when you are ready.
In turn, the wholesaler can let you know what is being held versus
what is pending. This allows you to take advantage of wholesaler stocks
while they are plentiful.
Throughout the ordering process, you can review the orders instantly,
including later requests and special orders. When necessary, you can
print tracer and follow-up letters giving appropriate details about
each order. The Textbook Module expands your effectiveness
by providing you with the ability to process text orders simultaneously
from four to nine separate terms/semesters. |
PRODUCTIVITY IN RECEIVING
As orders are received, receiving personnel can enter the desired
information from receiving documents into the Textbook Module, which
automatically updates inventory files.
Each textbook is assigned a SKU or EAN which will enable
you to print price tags. Each price tag becomes a key link for the
Textbook Module's integration into the point-of-sale module. It will
also help maintain a perpetual inventory.
You can also print shelf tags by term, course, and ISBN
order, which will free many hours for bookstore personnel to use for
additional tasks. |
WHEN THE RUSH IS OVER
When the rush is over, the Textbook Module will assist you
in the returns process by:
- Identifying pending returns
- Generating permission-to-return letters
- Generating chargebacks
- Approving pending returns
|
REPORTS AND WORKSHEETS
The Textbook Module helps you manage your bookstore by providing
you with a variety of comprehensive reports designed into the system.
You can also design your own reports using our flexible report generator.
