2003 Client Training Session Overview
for February - April
The
following training sessions are to be given for the period February
through April. Each session will consist of several different topics
to gauge which topics are the most needed in the client base as
a whole. Unless specified, all training will be hands-on in the
RBS training room facility in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
Textbook: Monday, February 3, 2003 to Thursday, February 6,
2003
The Text class will be February 3rd, 4th & 5th and will include Text, Buyback, Link and the Extended Database module. It is designed as a refresher course for users who have used the Textbook package for at least one term. The session will cover the following topics: term management, book entry, course request entry, work the buy processes, pending orders auto and manual entry and vendor returns processing.
The Receiving class will be February
6th and is designed as a refresher course for users who have received
in the RATEX package but want to learn all facets of the package.
The session will include a review of the links to Accounts Payable,
the three merchandise modules and the Retail Stock Ledger.
General Mdse: Monday, February 10, 2003 to Wednesday, February
12, 2003
The General Merchandise class will be February 10th & 11th. The class is designed as a refresher course for users who have used the General Merchandise module for at least two ordering seasons. The training will include an in depth review of the auto replenishment process, store to store and item to item transfers, permanent and promotional price changes, how to use the color/size matrix and a detailed review of the entire general merchandise ordering cycle.
The Receiving class will be February
12th and is designed as a refresher course for users who have received
in the RATEX package, but want to learn all facets of the package.
The session will also include a review of the links to Accounts
Payable, the three merchandise modules and the Retail Stock Ledger.
Accounting: Monday, February 17, 2003 to Thursday, February
20, 2003
The Accounting class will be February 17th & 18th. The class is designed as a refresher course for current users of Accounts Payable, Retail Stock Ledger, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Returned Checks who have had one or more of the these modules for 3 accounting periods.
The Physical Inventory class will be February 19th. The class is designed for all experience levels. It will include a full review of the physical inventory module, the different methods used hand counts, Symbol PDT’s, third party service and Radio Frequency units. We will also discuss all of the direct ties to the merchandise and accounting modules.
The Planning/OTB class will be
February 20th. The class is designed for all experience levels.
It will include a discussion on the plan maintenance, forecast update
and a review of the planning interfaces with the rest of RATEX.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their current merchandise plans
with them and input them into the planning module.
Tradebook: Monday, February 24, 2003 to Wednesday, February
26, 2003
The Trade Book module training class will be held February 24th to 25th. The session is designed as a refresher class for individuals who have used the RATEX Trade Book module for at least 3 months. The session will include a full review of the worksheet process, auto-replenishment, store to store and Trade to Text transfers, price changes, vendor returns and a detailed review of the entire ordering cycle in Trade.
The Receiving class will be February
26th and is designed as a refresher course for users who have received
in the RATEX package, but want to learn all facets of the package.
The session will also include a review of the links to Accounts
Payable, the three merchandise modules and the Retail Stock Ledger.

On March 7th and 8th, RBS will
be conducting client training sessions free of charge at NACS in
St Louis. At NACS, we will be holding training on the following
topics: RATEX Ordering Efficiencies, Maximizing your usage of the
PC register, Managing Serialized Inventory in General Merchandise

General Mdse: Monday, March 17, 2003 to Thursday, March 20,
2003
The General Merchandise class will be March 17th, 18th & 19th. The class is designed as a course for new users who have not used the General Merchandise module. The training will include an in depth review of how to setup your class structure, database setup and a review of proposed orders vs. purchase orders. Other topics that will be discussed are the auto replenishment process, store to store and item to item transfers, permanent and promotional price changes and how to use the color/size matrix.

20th and is designed as a course for users who have just begun or
who have never received in the RATEX package. The session will cover
all facets of the receiving package, including a review of the links
to Accounts Payable, the three merchandise modules and the Retail
Stock Ledger.
Tradebook: Monday, March 24, 2003 to Friday, March 28, 2003
The Trade Book module training class will include the Trade, Link and Extended Database modules and will be held March 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th. The session is designed for individuals who have never used the RATEX Trade Book module. The session will focus on new vendor setup, book update, the pending order vs. purchase order process and how to place electronic orders via ftp and the modem from within RATEX. The session will also include a full review of the worksheet processes, auto replenishment, store to store and Trade to Text transfers, price changes and vendor returns.

28th and is designed as a course for users who have just begun or
who have never received in the RATEX package. The session will cover
all facets of the receiving package, including a review of the links
to Accounts Payable, the three merchandise modules and the Retail
Stock Ledger.
POS/Sales Audit: Monday, March 31, 2003 to Wednesday, April
2, 2003
The Point of Sale training class will be held on March 31st and April 1st and is designed for both expert POS users and the novice as well. The session will review all facets of the POS PC register hardware, the POS*Liberty software both on-line and off-line modes, open and close the day procedures and on line vs. batch updating.
The Sales Audit training class
will be held on April 2nd and is designed for both expert Sales
Audit users and the novice as well. During the session we will take
all of the transactions rung up in the POS class and process and
balance them through as if you were in your store. Some of the topics
to be discussed will be error correction, cash drawer balancing
in the back office, journal review, numerous sales audit reports
and flash sales reporting.
Text & Trade: Monday, April 7, 2003 to Friday, April 11,
2003
The Text class will be April 7th, 8th & 9th and will include Text, Buyback, Link and the Extended Database module. Accounting: Tuesday, April 22, 2003 to Friday, April 25, 2003
The Accounting class will be April 22nd, 23rd 24th & 25th. The class is designed as a course for new users of Accounts Payable, the Retail Stock Ledger, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Returned Checks. Some of the topics to be discussed are AP invoice matching, accounting departments and classes, Stock Ledger categories, journal entry and maintenance, General Ledger account setup, Accounts Receivable account maintenance and how to balance the General Ledger.
General Mdse: Tuesday, April 29, 2003 to Thursday, May 1,
2003
The General Merchandise class will be April 29th, 30th & May 1st. The
class is designed as a course for new users who have not used the General
Merchandise module. The training will include an in depth review of how to
setup your class structure, database setup and a review of proposed orders
vs. purchase orders. Other topics that will be discussed are the auto
replenishment process, store to store and item to item transfers, permanent
and promotional price changes and how to use the color/size matrix.
